Indigenous-owned, and accountable for the work.
One company accountable for the security, network, communications, audio visual and IT systems a building runs on. Indigenous-owned, working across Canada.
Ownership that is still there in year eight.
[ Placeholder. The ownership story goes here: who owns the company, and what that means for a client deciding between a company that will still exist and answer for this system in year eight, and one that will not. ]
[ A second paragraph on hiring, training and where the knowledge stays. ]
Three ideas the identity is built on.
Watch over
The name is built from an Anishinaabe root, ga- from ganawendan, to watch over, and a Dakota one, -wáŋ from awáŋyaŋka, to guard. Both language communities are in the name.
Respect and endurance
The bison carries the Grandfather Teaching of Respect, Manaaji’idiwin, and to the Dakota peoples it stands for strength, endurance and self-sacrifice.
Clarity
The sun above the bison stands for visibility and clear oversight: knowing the state of a system before someone has to phone about it.
